The BIHL Group, one of Botswana’s leading financial services groups and listed on the local bourse, is set to host its inaugural BIHL Financial Summit in Gaborone on Thursday the 18th of October 2018.
The Summit will be themed ‘Navigating the challenges and opportunities in financial services in Emerging Markets.’ The BIHL Group believes dialogue on key matters in the financial services sector helps our industry grow.
“We found it critical and timely to host this Financial Summit for us to provide a platform for ideas exchanges on how to navigate emerging markets. It is important for us as a country to have these types of gatherings that converge both the financial services sector and Government – a meeting of public and private sector minds. Together, we can share, debate and come up with solutions on our current economic challenges,” said the BIHL Group CEO, Catherine Lesetedi.
The Summit will bring together invited industry guests and key stakeholders, as well as open up to members of the public, thus inculcating a greater culture of inclusion and debate in the public space. This year’s Financial Summit will be officially opened by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Kenneth Matambo. The Summit will be graced by economic experts and commentators from Botswana and the region. The selection of speakers comprises an array of renowned industry leaders and thinkers, including: Matambo, BIHL Group CEO, Dr. Martyn Davies – Deloitte SA, Bame Pule – Africa Lighthouse, Keith Vincent – Wilderness Holdings, Mamadou Mbaye – FONSIS (Sovereign Fund of Senegal), Gaffar Hassam – Sanlam, amongst others.
